National eHealth platform

A multi-module eHealth platform for healthcare institutions in Croatia had to comply with national healthcare legislation and the GDPR at every stage of development.

System
EMR, EHR, ePrescription, pharmacy, laboratory and survey modules
Requirements
Croatian healthcare legislation · EU GDPR
My role
Compliance officer in the delivery team
When
2023–2024, before TrustedTraceMed was founded

This project was delivered in a role I held before founding TrustedTraceMed. It is health IT rather than a certified medical device; it is included because it shows compliance work embedded in a development team.

The system

An eHealth platform covering electronic medical records (EMR), pharmacy and laboratory modules, electronic health records (EHR), ePrescription, and survey and questionnaire modules, designed to digitise healthcare delivery across Croatian healthcare institutions.

The challenge

Several healthcare modules had to be integrated while meeting Croatian national healthcare legislation and the GDPR. That required continuous compliance oversight throughout the development lifecycle, from discovery through production.

What I did

  • Acted as compliance officer across the full project lifecycle.
  • Worked with stakeholders to make sure each module met Croatian healthcare requirements and data protection rules.
  • Took part in pre-production and production activities, keeping compliance oversight during development and deployment.

What a colleague said

I cannot emphasise enough how big Liza's contribution was on our national healthcare information system. Top professional, remarkable attention to detail. Cannot recommend her enough.
